Okay, but there's 0 chance of that happening with TF.
There is also a 100% chance of dealing less damage.

But the point was he just used sprint... right? (according to MCS)
Another useful MCS quote: Cripple FTW.
75% of the teams I face use QZ or my team uses QZ. I don't often frenzy without having sprint charged. Obviously I have to use frenzy without having it charged sometimes or that would completely defeat the purpose of using frenzy. If damage dealers want to switch off their monks to smash me a few times let them it can only help my team because they won't get enough double damage hits for it to have been effective.
True I COULD get spiked to death before my monk could heal me or I could sprint but it simply doesn't happen enough (at all) to justify using another skill which wastes attribute points.
Before I say anything, let me state that I lean toward using Frenzy on most builds instead of Tiger's Fury. With that said ...
~~~
The damage difference between:
10 Strength
16 Weapon Mastery
09 Beast Mastery
And
13 Strength
16 Weapon Mastery
--whatever is left into whatever
Is so small as to be laughable. This is not a good argument in favour of Frenzy.
~~~
In Tombs, where you run into Quickening Zephyr 90% of the time, there is no downtime with Tiger's Fury. It's ready to be used in 5 seconds. But you only need to re-use it every 9 seconds.
Downtime is not a good argument.
~~~
Energy costs are not a problem. A Zealous Axe means you always have energy to use Tiger's Fury.
Energy cost is not a good argument.
~~~
Having to use Zealous instead of Sundering is not a good argument. Sundering is crap. Furious is marginally useful. Vampiric is somewhat useful, about as much as not taking double damage from the occasional damage splashes on your warrior. Or when you actually become such a nuisance to a team they that do actually decide to take you out.
So Vampiric vs Zealous is also so marginal that it doesn't tip the scale in favour of either TF or Frenzy.
~~~
What is a good argument, however, is that by going with W/R and using Tiger's Fury, you are safer. But, if you went with W/X and used Frenzy, you could've improved your damage further, with skills like Judge's Insight or Strength of Honour (when NR is fixed). Can't really do that with the W/R without the assistance of a smiter.
This is the only argument with any merit, in favour of Frenzy. Damage. Not damage that comes from 3% more AP out of Strength. But damage enhancement that comes from your secondary class.
So here's the question for all you people that for some reason like to run Tiger's Fury on your W/R. *Why* is it better than frenzy? And if you say, "because you take double damage while frenzied" I am going to stab you in the neck over and over again with a number 2 pencil.
Location: my w/mo uses mending, orison, and healing breeze. you cant kill him.
I particularly love it when boneheads activate Gladiator's Defense, because that's the surest sign that said bonehead can be safely ignored until his entire team is wiped out.
I guess in general I just love watching boneheads play, it's always good for a laugh.
You talk but you seem to know little. Gladitors defense is one of the very best defenses in the game. Elitist BS makes me want to spew and your noob coments are bring me to the virge. Im going to point this out for you so your slow brain can maybe comprehend. If you are reffering to 8vs8, then a warrior setup will be ALOT different then in 4 vs 4. And please when we PVP ignore me it doesnt matter you still will be skewered. For a sword war the best combo is galraths+final thrust, its fone ignore me while I tab around and find a teamate hovering around 50% health. Hes going to die hardcore.
Its funny after a few times being run through can make people really pay attention to you. You my friend are a fricking tard. Gladiators is on a 30 second recharge timer, its a great skill for a pure war build. And is perfect for idiots who frenzy on you. Just wait them out let hem frenzy some work on them, till they drop to about 60% or so, then fire gladiators and they will almost always swing 2-3 times more if they are not careful. Then unload galraths+final thrust, and usually a pure strike as they scramble for a stance. At this point they try for a heal sig, which really never saves them, easy to interrupt or try to run which is why theyve been hamstringed at the beginning of the combo.
I cant tell you the countless noobs I have killed in the arena like this. And meanwhile while you ignore me I am tabbing around for casters who are at half health and just destroying them when they dont see it coming. So when we fight please ignore me,unlike the majority of idiots in random 4 on 4 I bring rez, I know my krap and I manage to kill quite a few. A strong tactics war, is a huge asset especially in 4 on 4 arenas. Self healing and can surivive thorugh quite a bit. Any caster dumb enough to ignore a good warrior deserves to be smacked down, and any warrior who engages another war over a soft target should be smacked.....s
Wtf is your point anyways? its always a bad strategy to target warriors first. I mean seriously do you target warriors and if they dont have gladiators you attack them? Sounds a little frickin dumb bud. So you must be that moron who goes on on one with a war while getting destroyed by a N/me or ELE.
Its one of the best defenses in the game if physical attackers are stupid enough to attack you. A sword warrior can only spike in pvp if you can get the opponent past half health which is doubtful because unless your heavily buffed, you won't outdamage healing.
If you consider gladiators good because you can beat warriors using healing signet, I laugh at you. Any real warrior knows to rely on his monk for healing rather than using signet if another warrior is stupid enough to target him.
Great job, killing newbs that attack warriors is a great accomplishment. I'm glad your proud. Please realize that this thread is judging for real competition, not arenas that consist of newbs, people testing builds, and some decent people that are sick of tombs.
He's actually one of the most respected and knowledgable people on the forum. If you want to double (this is taking a generous estimate of how well you "know your krap") your knowledge of the game, you might want to read his post history.
The only reason I run TF on my W/R is he is an Axe warrior so I do not have to worry about energy hardly at all, unless someone used spirit shackles in which case I'm not too worried about it, they have less of a grasp of the game than my GF who watches SOMETIMES.
TF lets me take more damage/conditions to inflict because I do not have to take another stance to cancel it if I start to take damage.
Frenzy, for all intents and purposes, takes 2 skill slots. Which, unless you are using an adrenaline stance, at the LOWEST costs you the same as TF.
TF, for all its energy costs, points spent, and your hatred, takes 1 skill slot, without having to watch for incoming damage.
I use TF for an extra skill slot for the same energy cost and not having to worry about being attacked.
Look dude. Frenzy must be one of the worst skills in the game. It's good for newbies to tryout but sucks in the length.
You take double damage from all sources like: Empathy 31 dmg --> 62 Insidious Parasite 18 dmg --> 36
62 + 36 = 98 dmg
You're taking 98 dmg on yourself each time you hit someone with an attack while using Frenzy. That's just 2 hex spells. You don't wanna hear the rest.
Oh my...I'd hate to be an ass, but there are a large number of gaping flaws in what you just said. I'm sure someone will gladly point them out to you.
